Voice/Piano Studio Policies

Hours of Operation

Studio hours of operation are Monday-Friday 10:00am - 5:00pm EST.  Please allow 24 hours for response to all communication during the week.  Communication outside of the studio operating hours may have a longer response time, and all weekend communications will be answered the following Monday.  Email is the preferred method of communication, as texts may not be seen while teaching.

Our Responsibilities

Music with Brandi teachers will facilitate musical learning and growth in a supportive, creative and collaborative environment.  Our goal is to cultivate a lifelong love of music making in each student by empowering them to learn, create, and grow according to their own interests and long-term goals.  We will tailor curriculum to match each student’s learning needs.

Student and Family Responsibilities

Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assigned books and music.  To make progress, quality practice is necessary.  Please ask questions about home assignments so that the student and parents can completely understand the assignments and goals.

Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child, please let me know.  The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.

Music and Materials

Each piano student will receive lesson books and a folder and should bring these to every lesson.  If a student has forgotten their materials, we will focus our lesson time on "off bench" musical activities.  All Piano students receive access to PracticeSpace App.  The teacher will use this resource as a communication tool for practice assignments. 

Voice students will receive materials that will be determined by the level of music literacy of the student.  Students should bring all materials to class every week.  All voice students receive access to a Google Classroom.  It is necessary for each student to have a non-school Gmail account.

All online students must have high speed internet and a working microphone and camera.  Having a device that is separate from the computer to play music on is also essential.  Having a keyboard at home is strongly encouraged.

Tuition and Schedule

*Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times.

Flat monthly tuition rates are based on the number of guaranteed lessons in the calendar year.  There will be a minimum of 40 lessons offered throughout the year, and the weeks where lessons are not held (due to holidays, personal obligations, or illness) will be communicated in advance.

All payments are non-refundable.  After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically on the same day.  Tuition will be drawn on the 1st of each month from the method on file.  All automatic payments will be run through Fons and Stripe.

In the event that a payment is returned or declined, a 48-hour window will be provided to adjust the payment method and resubmit payment.  Invoices paid after the 3rd of the month will receive a $15 late fee.  Recurring late payments may result in termination of the student’s enrollment.

Piano students are charged a non-refundable annual $45 registration fee per student subscription due on January 1 of each year.  This fee covers basic materials and costs associated with recitals and workshops hosted by Music with Brandi.  Any music purchases outside of the basic materials are the responsibility of the student.

Voice students are charged a non-refundable annual $65 registration fee per student subscription due on January 1 of each year.  This fee covers sheet music purchases and costs associated with recitals and workshops hosted by Music with Brandi.  Any music purchases after the $65 has been used are the responsibility of the student.

Cancelation Policy
Lessons canceled by students will not be guaranteed a make-up lesson. Students who cancel a lesson with at least 24 hours notice will be given a missed lesson assingment in their practice app.

Lessons canceled by Music with Brandi will be given as much notice as possible.  Cancelations outside of the guaranteed 40 annual lessons will be rescheduled within 30 days.

Students who miss a group class session can see weekly assignments in Google Classroom. 

Tuition is based on the number of lessons the studio schedules and will not be altered.  *A student’s spot will not be guaranteed for the fall term if they were not enrolled in lessons during the summer term.

Virtual Lessons

In the case of mild teacher illness, severe weather, or other conflicts, lessons may be held online virtually.  When virtual lessons are offered, in-person makeup lessons will not be offered.  If the student opts out of the virtual lesson, that lesson and tuition will be forfeited.  Tuition is non-refundable.

Change in Enrollment

We must receive a change request (to change or cancel your enrollment) by the last business day of the month to avoid charges for the next month.  If a change request is submitted on the 1st of the month, the payment will still be run for the current month.  No refunds are given for payments run before a change is processed.

By enrolling and paying tuition for myself or my child in Music with Brandi, I certify that I understand and agree to the studio policies for the 2024 calendar year.

Photo and Video Release

Every so often, I may use pictures and videos of my students on the studio website or in social media posts.  These photos and videos are encouraging to other students and helpful to other teachers.  If you do not want your child's image(s) to be used, please let me know.  The students are identified only by first name.
